I've not seen much track action yet this summer, but a few laps of Le Mans have reminded me that I love it! Coincidentally, I notice that Circuit Days have a track evening at Brands next Monday starting at 5pm.

I'm thinking that I might just be able to leave work early enough to get down there in time and the weather forecast looks okay too.

Does anyone else fancy it?

Would have joined you but it's 98dB static, so it's not going to work for me unfortunately.

Well spotted. Not sure too many Cerbs will crack 98db. Mine struggles to get under 105 even with he track cans fitted.

Would have joined you but going to the Cotswolds that day for 3 nights in my new toy 1999 Griff, mind you thats as long as the finaces are in place,

Would love to do Brands but not the kidney bean, Cerb more suited to the GP circuit, and its only 20 mins up the road from me

Oh good point. I think the Tardis would even struggle there with that one.

Thank you UKKid for pointing out the noise level.

I have chekced with Circuit Days and this is the fact for evenings at BH now. Don't know when it changed because loads of us have been on track in the evenings before at Brands frown.

Might just go down in my quieter car - but then if M3John's BMW is louder than 98, I'm not sure the other car will get in either?

More research required I think! Watch this space smile

Just spoken with Circuit Days and on this occasion they have offered to credit the cost of the track evening against another trackday smile if any of us find we fail the noise test.

As regards noise levels my Cerb registered 94dB on the static test at Rockingham last week (Standard silencers and everything else) and I seem to remember it was 96dB at Castle Combe,

I did an evening at Brands a few weeks ago and as well as a static noise test, they will also pull you in if your tyres are screeching too much around Clearways.

Apparently the local residents are complaining about the noise.

Don't move to near a race circuit then..

"Hello, is that the council? I'd like to complain about the noise coming from this racing circuit that I've moved next to."

And sadly the council respond by tightening the noise restriction. fking tts!

Oh and the icing on the cake is that a few years ago Jonathan Palmer offered the residents along the closest road well above market rates to buy their houses off them. They turned it down!! punch

I gave up trackdays because I got black flagged twice on track after passing static test, Goodwood and Zolder, and on both occasions I had inserts in, only option I had was to get bigger silencers or putting back original back box.

People do make you smile though who live next to race tracks, I had the same in my skydiving days. one was Headcorn Kent where the local residents complained about the new turbo prop islander which was actually quieter than the standard one, and Headcorn was a second world war airfield, the other one that got compliants was RAF Weston On The Green work that one out, I can,t understand people who move near such places then moan about the noise

Mine will easily pass 98db test with the silencers in. Just need to get the MOT and Tax sorted now.
