Whoever owns that F10 M5 needs to come forward and own up. Thats the best M car i think ive ever seen and the mods are perfect. Shame on the E61 diesel owner for even parking in the same post code!

Tyres that look like they protrude outside of the wheel arch smacks of chav to me - or they were so stupid that they bought the wrong offset.

Ha ha ha this M-badge thing has really rattled you Eddie!!
Maybe you should badge yours up as a 520d and see how they like it
The tourer isn't even an m-sport which just makes it even worse!

That F10 is amazing

Some of the double standards on here are laughable. Some guy puts on black grills and changes his wheels and they are treated like lepers yet when people apply the same lack of taste to a M car they think it looks cool. rolleyes

I'm in the camp that aftermarket mods like black grills and painted black wheels are cheap and chavvy looking regardless of what engine is under the bonnet.

???????

Nobody said anything about the wheels or black grills. My point was to highlight the massive abuse of M badges. If you wanna pimp your ride then thats cool. Just keep the badges sensible.

Neither car sits well with me. At least the touring owner didn't spend £80k + and then ruin his car with tat.

Black grills and wheels are fine it's people that put badges on their cars to make them look a higher model etc that is the problem
Another example would be an AMG badge on an a C220cdi or a VXR badge on a 1.0 Corsa

An M car isn't pretending to be something it's not

Can you read back what you wrote and you will see the point. In the grand scheme of things it doesnt really matter if one person decides to scatter a million M badges at random points on his/her car or someone decides to replace the BMW and M badges with those tacky fake carbon fibre replacements. Customisation is a very personal thing and my opinion copious M badgery and black grills/wheels are the same thing just a different car.

Obviously opinions vary on this topic.

Personally, I don't put black grills in the same category as black wheels.

I have made (what I consider to be) subtle changes to my car, that make it scream less loudly "I'm an M5". I think that a black kidney grill just completes the look started by shadowline window trim, body coloured door handles and black roof bars. I think that black side grills without the M5 badge on them blend into the wings better than chrome grills, and even from quite close up you don't notice that they're there at all.

Black wheels are a step too far in my opinion.

Unnecessary badges is just something I associate with people who are younger / have less spare cash and I would expect most people to grow out of by the time they're 25.

I have to say, I don't like that F10 M5 any more that the badged up touring. That F10 M5 just looks cheap.

Get used to it - BMW are now putting ///M badges on themselves.....

yes, I know it's an M135i, but there are many who would say it's not a 'true' M car so shouldn't have the badge....

Sorry, you are a plank.

We all like to have a little giggle at misbadged BMW's but does such a car really warrant the effort of posting several pictures of it on the internet? Perhaps the owner's just a BMW fan and doesn't own enough corporations/isn't powerfulyl built enough to have a brand new M5.

Have an opinion by all means, but posting this sort of st on the internet is crass in the extreme and highlights you as the sort of person I'd make a point of avoiding in the pub.

A bit Off Topic but I think a lot of people have the misconception about ///M badges. I did as well until I was educated.

"M Sport" cars does come with the ///M badge. Proper "M" cars have a number in the badge i.e ///M1, ///M3, ///M5...

I agree, its just elitism. Save the hatred for genuine idiots, vandals etc, not just those with dubious tastes.

@ pretender etc. No humour left in the M forum then? Love this place!

Plank is a bit harsh though isn't it? Have I offended you dear? Maybe have a lie down for a bit and see if things mellow. Elitist banter is harmless banter at the end of the day, whether you agree with it or not. Oh, and yeah, maybe I did have a little too much time on my hands when posting the pics. It'd be a boring site if there weren't such posts don't you think.

Off now to throw horse manure in the 'fake Audi RS badge' forum. Tootlepip!
