Im not pleading innocence, i was guilty, paid the fine, but i didnt even know they were there.

What law gives the justification to fine people for them?

Im just a bit confused, speed cameras must be highlighted, red light cameras are highlighted, here in aberdeen the bus lane cameras are highlighted, yet in edinburgh they are not clear, the signs are just speed camera signs.

Cannot answer all your question but there are signs saying that the Bus Lane cameras are in use and live. At least on the A71/Calder Road ones - not sure if there are any others though.

The legislation for the bus lanes is contained in the Edinburgh Council Greenways Order 1997, parts of which are to be (or possibly already have been) superseded by the TRO for the Trams. Those give the Council the power to enforce.

The method of enforcement (cameras or whatever) does not need specific legislation.

As another poster says, there are plenty of signs warning of bus lane cameras
