Friday night had an issue with the car (gen 1 997 turbo) loads of error messages in a row; pasm failed, spoiler failed, pmt failed, etc. Followed by all the dials going wild and various warning lights flashing. Speedo also stopped working. Battery ok, alternator output ok. It was towed to local opc who returned the car this morning saying no faults recorded on the system and car would be fine. Now taken it on holiday with me. Did 100 miles to get here no issue however jumped in it to go to supermarket this pm and same issue again. When it says for example pasm failed then you can feel the ride is very hard so it has genuinely stopped working. Anyone else had this? Any ideas?

Electrical short somewhere I reckon. Could be as a result of water ingress as said above. Could ask your OPC to check the fuses and ECU connections?

Go to another OPC I'd say if you can.

Just FYI - if the battery is going you will get PSM/ABS failure.
