My mother in Law owns a house in St Jean D'Asse. It sleeps 13 (not including sofa beds)and although rustic/basic it works.

Whilst she is considering selling it (for peanuts in my opinion) I did go someway to telling her that it was very rentable for Le Mans.

Question is I am not sure how much demand there would be and what people are comfortable paying. Please let me know. It might even interest people who are keen on developing it as I feel it has bags of potential.

Location is good for off circuit accommodation, but depends on facilities etc.
Do you have any pictures? What's local? bars restaurants etc.

It is basic in as much as it was my mother in laws parents house but there is hot/cold water, fridge, beds, spacious garden, 4 double bedrooms and loads of space downstairs. There is a large garage plus plenty of parking right outside on the square. It is a typical french village with boulangerie, a bar/restaurant etc but I wouldn't make a point of going there for a night out.

There is however some cracking restaurants in neighbouring villages like L'Auberge in La guierche.

It would be a proposal to someone to either buy and tart up or rent for a reasonable rate and have a base camp for a few days. Here is the link to the Estate Agents page. It is not very good as the property is actually joined and it includes both those houses in the picture. There isn't any internal pics either but that'll be french real estate agents for you. I would happily help out any interested parties including taking people there.

The agents do offer 2 houses in the one sale so if you say that the other is not yours then you need to talk to the agent tout suite.

nope - misunderstanding - it IS both properties for sale (ie it has two front doors). Is used to be a dairy and the family lived on one side and they sold the dairy products on the other.

Frankly I can get a good deal with the MiL - it is a huge property for a little under £100K - I am just concerned how commercial it is so i am interested in responses on here.

Maybe have a natter with an estate agent over there (Immoblier?) - what else available and at what price. Mrs Framac (who is french) commented there was a lot of propoerty for sale this year near the circuit - more so than in previous years.

Nothing is selling and lots available at low prices.
But anything will sell at the right price but it's finding that price.

looking at the location it looks way to far from the Circuit to be of any real interest to me and the lads - i'm guessing 45 mins drive on a normal day?

Others may be ok with the travel though it's just a personal preference.

its about 15 mins according to my mother in law who grew up there, having done it once I remember it being very close. It is approx 10KM and right next to the autoroute so depends on what time you travel and how fast you drive.
