Little problems with my baby! ('T' plate 500 Chim)
Discussion
Right guys/gals,
I have got three little problems with my beauty, but it's just still under warranty so I wanted to make sure I knew a little about what could be the problem so I don't get fobbed off.
1) Water under the carpet in the driver’s side foot well but none on the top of the carpet or up the sides of the foot well. I think it must be coming though the bulkhead?
2) Squeaky fan belt on start up any fixes?
3) Oil leak a the front of the engine??? Any well-known problems, Could it be the crank seal/worn crank? (24000 miles)
I'm going to get under it tomorrow have a better look!
Also does anyone know anything about warranties and what happens if the problem isn't fixed after the warranty has run out even if they have tried to fix it.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

On the squeaky ancillary drive belt front, I tryed just about all the recommended solutions going without satisfactory results.
Squeaks/clattering can be caused by tiny stones trapped in the grooves of the belt so first of all try removing it and cleaning it. However, that didn't fix mine so step two is to get down to your nearest Land Rover dealership and buy a new one for about £12.
Be sure to get exactly the right size - the length is printed on the belt.

For the water leak, climb under your sterring wheel and look up under the dash to the left and see if you have any pot rivets. My griff was leaking here. a blob of silicone sealant on top will do the trick. For the belt try a little talcum powder. If it still does it it may need re tensioning
