In dash terms, anyone know there difference ?

Or if not, at least the year when the change occurred ?

I was browsing the classifieds and the new dash ad said Mk II.

Layout for the main dash was the same I think but the instruments changed so the pre cat SW ones might be smaller. The lower dash changed between pre cat and 500 but the major change was with the SE cars that used the Chim heater controls.

ETA had a look at the ad and the dash described as the MKII is an SE dash

The main difference was the position of the Gauges

Is that new dash ad saying Mk II mine? They should fit a mid 95 onwards Griffith 500, although I have seen later cars with different size dial holes - I guess TVR fitted what ever they had, depending upon who they were on "Financial Hold" with.

BTW What wally said it was an SE dash ;-)

What year is your Griffith? Or measure the diameter of the hole for one of the auxillary dials is the best way to ensure your dials will fit into.

Those look like the bigger auxillary dials, so our new dashes won't be any good to you. However, if you strip out the dials/leds and send the metal backing plates, we'd charge £250 to reveneer dash and heater panel to as new, inc postage back to you. About ten days turn around.

James TVR-MADS, for the above dash with the flush fitting instruments would you happen to have a handful of the sort of Z shaped retainers glued to the rear of the dash I could purchase from you? I have asked on here previously and called a few specialists and found none. Thanks.

500dread - Sorry, but I don't have any. X-Works and CentralTVR buy dashes off me and so might be able to help?

Dash used to look like this:

the 500 dash goes thru a transition of several variants from 93 thru to 95 this above is the earliest and is pretty much the pre cat with pointers starting @ 1 o'clock and not 7 o'clock. also dial sizes varied as well (hole size in dash).
