Market slowing down?
Discussion
Hi there,
I am absolutely desperate to return to the fold and have been searching for the "right" TVR for two summers now.
Part of the problem has been that I couldnt really decide what model I wanted. Initially I wanted an SE Griff and nearly bought Reesos last year (kinda wish i had) but the dealers are asking silly prices and the more I've looked, the more I have grown to want, initially a Tuscan S and now a Tuscan 2S. (I have had 2 Griffs and 2 Cerbs in the past and I think that I may like to try something new). I was very tempted with the Reflex Charcoal Tuscan 2 S that was for sale recently but the car no longer seems to be for sale and was perhaps a tad pricey for a private sale anyway? (no offence to owner).
Until recently there had been a steady stream each day of a new car or 3 being advertised but recently the well seems to be going dry.
Now of course owners may well be keeping them through the summer but I thought that as we approach the beginning of the end of the TVR season, post Le Mans, now would perhaps be the selling time, if there is in fact a "selling" time.
Could the lack of cars currently available be an indication that owners are now even more keen to hang on to their future classics following TVR's final demise?
Anyone thinking of putting their Tuscan 2S in a reflex or spectra flare colour on the market?
Thanks.

Hi, the TVR demise is really nothing to do with it, most knew it would never emerge again and it makes no difference given the support from power, str8six, RG etc. I guess it's a combination of classic status, bang for buck, improved reliability, therefore more opportunity for fun without issues
you have to move quick to get certain tvr's, and pay asking price or get lucky. Some are still high volume e.g chim, others rarer and rarer these days e.g. T350c/t or sag and these are sold at premium prices more and more.
Go to shows, scan pistonheads, talk to dealers/garages etc
good luck, the wait will be worth it and dont compromise, get your dream car!
