Its a nice dilemma to have, but can't make my mind up.
I've had a Boardman Road Comp for the last couple of years and its been a great bike. I've only had to change tyres and the rest has been fine, save for the uncomfortable handlebars which give me discomfort after about 50 miles.
I've seen a Cannondale Super Six 105 on offer, but unfortunately can't test at demo. Likewise, the CAAD10 is also on a deal. My current steed is wanted by a mate of mine and thus have a taker for the Boardman which would enable me to fund the new bike. I've sat on the SS and it felt great but not ridden one.
I've ridden the Boardman through winter and its been fine and i've been lucky not to have a crash on it yet, despite doing some race training on a local circuit during winter.
My usual riding is a couple of 25s during the week with a 50-70miler usually once a week. It also goes on the turbo in the garage.
I'm trying to justify the dream machine, but finding it hard to spend the money when I know that 3x £££ doesnt equal 3x bike.
When did those running Carbon bikes put the fear of damage out of their minds and forgot about the cost and just bought the bike? Just to add, the SS currently is selling for £1399 (From £1999), and the CAAD10 £999.

i had a boardman team and it was such a good bike i couldnt justify upgrading till i was in the "how much?!" realms. the boardman is a great bike, either stick some new wheels on it (Fulcrum 5s, ultegra etc) which will completely transform it and keep it or keep saving.
to be honest, i only have issues riding carbon on long wet descent when the road surface gets sketchy, its insured and if the worst happens i know its going to get replaced. if you are worried about tranist damage etc, the big blue chain reaction bike bag is quite popular and you dont need to strip the bike down that much to fit it in

Spend the money on a bike fit, and whatever bits (bars, stem, etc) that may need to be replaced as a result. Less pain = further, fitter, faster. No bike, no mater how much CF or how "laterally stiff/vertically compliant" it may be, is as good as that. Plus, you can concentrate on utterly smashing those who thought they could buy their way to speed
