I know there was a thread a while back about this (Roger?) but is anyone camping there Stoneleigh style or staying in hotels? I think I may be able to go now, use it as a test run to check nothing falls off before doing the Brighton Speed Trials.

I was planning on camping.

Seems the club stands are inside the circuit but the camping area is outside. So on Saturday you'll not set up tents untill late/after the show, then on Sunday morning you'll have to pack up the camping kit into the car before going back inside to the club area, unless you fancy leaving it all unattended in the camp site... Think I may be persuaded to go B+B...

When I did a Donnington day last year I stayed in a pub a mile or two away from the track. It had it own built-in Zindian restaurant, and as I pulled up 10pm the head chef was just getting into his car to go home, it was a quiet night. Once he realised I was staying he took my order in the car park, went back in to cool it personally and sent the waiter out with an ice cold pint of Cobra for me to drink while I fitted my tonneau. Nice. The room stank of piss a bit, but I'd stay there again.

What about that hotel we stayed in when we did Wishes for Kids a couple of years ago?

I was going to camp but will be finding a b&b instead i will be on the quantum owners stand in my red quantum coupe and will be going out in the evening to find a pub for food and a drink etc so bit pointless in camping. So if im around come and say hello will be there both days can't wait.

Roger, do you mean the hotel in Castle Donnington village? Oooo that was a messy night.... I seem to remember not being able to see and "un-ordering" a round of flaming Sambuca you had ordered to try and finish us off! Yeah, I'm in!!

I don't remember that! Then again I was so drunk I didn't care I was soaked through to the skin on the way to the Indian.

I won't be staying but will be there for one of the days.

Tell a lie, it was Osborne who ordered them but you were standing next to me all glazed over, muttering something about getting on some expensive gin?? Thats when I knew it was time for bed.

Regarding the actual in-car activities - that is a possiblity to drive / get a ride in a car of interest as well as the 'Action' (drift experience, etc) - what can be expected based on the previous years ?

The show is Under New Management so I think you can't compare it with previous years.

Note:- "ClubZone Moves: Having been assured that the infield area would be serviceable for the show it's now clear that, after all this summer's bad weather, the area is in a state. After a couple of recent site visits, we have decided to relocate the club area to outside the main hall. This is not the area used in 2007, but instead an open area near the wood. It's a great spot and there's still access to the infield to watch the racing all weekend. The location is also far closer to the camping area."
