People who know about wheel alignments please take a look

Picked my car up from my BMW dealer last Monday after having a faulty steering rack replaced.

Today in the sunlight I noticed this on the steering wheel roundel.

So my question is. Is there a clamp or something attached to the wheel while they align it?

I have sent them the pic but havn't had the conversation yet. Apparently it's not just a new badge required.

Looks more like flung on the workshop floor and scuffed across it.

The clamp is more of a wedge and goes between the bottom of the steering wheel and top of the seat

That's the type I was referring too. The disc goes on the seat, the two bars go on the bottom of the steering wheel.

Ah, I see. I assumed the round bit clamped against the steering wheel
