Accident repair - advice sought ...

Blimey, doesn't sound good, but hopefully you are OK - which is the main thing.
You can choose to have it repaired where ever you choose. Your insurer may try to tell you it has to be at their preffered garage, but not true.
Any decent insurer would want to use an Aston approved bodyshop - which is where any Aston dealer will send it anyway.
Looking at your profile and seeing where you live, I would strongly suggest you avoid the Aston Approved bodyshop in a well known town just off the M4, close to Heathrow. PM me if you want to know why to avoicd it and which one I'm refering to. Think David Brent in The Office and you'll guess the town.

Just report to your broker ASAP and get it fixed at your chosen body shop. Let the broker do the rest. I'm assuming you are not going for the whiplash scamWhat advantage is there in having a loss assessor?

. I lost that in court even though I wasn't moving and the horse was insured. Great BBQ, though - fed the entire village for a month 
If it was clear cut not your fault.....appointing a loss assessor can be helpful
1. They might be able to get the car written off if you don't fancy it back
2. If it is written off they can negotiate a higher price ....a friend of mine was offered £9500 for his old Boxster when it was written off...l.with the help of an assessor he was finally paid £13000
3. If it’s not written off you can ask for diminution of value i.e. the car is worth less when you come to sell it because of the repairs.......I negotiated £2000 on a six month old Merc CLK some years ago after a leaner driver drove into me
4. An assessor shouldn't cost you more than £500
5. They could also negotiate an amount for loss of use

Because the horse was deemed to be behaving like a horse and doing horsey things. Oh, and the magistrate just thought that the big shouty Italian sports car must have scared it. Seriously, she asked me how many exhaust pipes were hanging out the back. 4 is never going to be an answer that's going to win favour with a posh old lady wearing tweed and sensible shoes. sad thing was, I had to prove that the horse had a history of being erratic, which I couldn't. However, now that the horse "had form" the rider couldn't get insurance and had to sell it. See a nag/rider on a quiet country lane......stop, switch off engine, let it pass and pray.

Curious as to why actually sustaining a whiplash injury is a scam? Or do you mean pretending to have a whiplash injury, in which case I totally agree with you!

Very sorry to hear about your accident, you can choose where you have your car repaired - so works service or another Aston place with recommendations on here will see you right.
The loss assessor may not be a bad idea if the value of the car diminishes as a result of the accident.
Write down ASAP everything you remember from the incident - it may help avoid a knock for knock on your insurance. You only hit the car in front as a result of being hit by the car behind = not your fault I would suggest.
