Planet X Pro Carbon Hybrid

Due to a seriously knackered lower back I can't ride with drop bars but I fancy something that will cover the 8 mile commute to work a bit quicker than my 26" wheeled Marin Stinson hybrid. The Marin is great for trails and disused railways but is seriously under geared on any kind of descent and is quite heavy. I stumbled on Planet X's Pro carbo hybrid which has 700C wheels, SRAM groupset, full carbon frame and higher gearing all for £999. It looked good in the flesh and you can't seem to get anything any with a better spec for the cash. The only other problem I've thought of is - will a 16 stone porker like me snap the poor thing. Has anyone got any experience of Planet X and the bike?

I can't comment on the hybrid but I bought the Carbon Pro roadbike in January. Utterly superb - 10/10.
