Bloody hello! I just saw what is the worst abortion ever- that "roof" on the murcielago roadster!

Now I know its meant to be a convertible, but then so is the 360 spider, but that total abortion makes the car look stupid. What were they thinking?!

It doesnt fit properly, its an awful color, its manual, its destroys the aesthetics...all this on a car that costs considerably more than the standard version.

Really, I think I could do a better job with some safeway carrier bags and some dayglo masking tape.

The Murci roadster was only conceived as a play thing for the stupidly rich to parade up and down in the warmer parts of the world... Those in the S.of.France of LA will never need to use the roof.

Lambo are simply fulfilling a niche which I have no doubt will go down a storm. The car is much more individual than the Rari 550 Barchetta which had an equally pathetic roof.

It's not just the crap roof, the whole car lacks the completeness of the coupe. Why bother? If you want a cruiser, just about convertible looks better and works better. If you want a supercar, stick with the original coupe, I say.

Haven't seen it in the flesh yet, but it's a pretty spectacular looking car. I presume the roof is the same as that on a 550 Barchetta, in which case it's a 'get you home' thing. I wouldn't presume anything about the likely owners of these cars though.

The roof is an afterthought - it's NOT a convertable - it's a roadster - there shouldn't be a roof!

The roof (like the 550 barchetta) was an attempt at some form of notional water protection should be caught in a shower.

The fact that both of you (and it takes two!) will get wet putting it up is neither hair (sic!) nor there!

Anjum, I see your point. But what is the purpose of the car? Unlike (say) a 360 it doesn't look better for being open. It looks like a beached whale. It doesn't cruise like an SL55. It can't drive as well as a standard Murci, lacking the stiffness of a coupe. It isn't a GT or a ground covering supercar. Why bother??? After the brilliance of the original Murci this car is a dud.

Mhh,

The purpose is to have one of the sexy cars ever designed as a roadster. They have strengthened it (like car companies have to do with all softtops) and per the article I read they have managed to keep the same weight, handling and performance stats of its coupe brother. Yep it is a roadster and not a convertible (it can only be driven max speed of 90mph with the roof on) so as a roadster I for one reckon they have done a cracking job.

Cheers.

I guess I'm just missing something then. My idea of a roadster is an MX5.

I have to say I think the Murci Roadster is a stunning piece of kit. I actually like the look of the car with the roof in place . Without it though, its truly awesome and hopefully Lambo Manchester will be getting one in for me to have a good gawp at.

MHH - I agree with you - I think you must be missing something....

I think that the Murci roadster is a fabulous car !

It exists purely because it can, and that's good enough. If it is only for the very wealthy, then good luck to them - I would love one ! In fact I think that the Audi Lambos are all good in the flesh, and disagree with anyone who doesn't like the fact that outrageous styling and top performance has now been combined with top build quality and reliability.

Now I just need to decide which colour to have.....
