Hey guys, I need to buy a 2002 1.2 corsa, for £1000 or cheaper with in 40 miles of wrexham. Been searching for about 4 hours now and feel like ripping my pubes out.

I Looked on auto trader, here, ebay. Some other dodgy websites... But yeah i can't seem to find anything. Can you guys suggest some to me please.

I will be more then grateful. I want my first car for summer. :P biggrin

Thanks a lot guys.

Yep, that would be my first thought as an alternative to buying a Corsa

Try a focus.

No, seriously, try a quote, surprisingly low for me. You really, really, REALLY don't want a 1.2 corsa. And the insurance isn't that cheap on them, think of how many chavs have wrapped them around lamposts

4 whole hours? Well isn't that a long time to be car hunting for?!

I suppose that it is approximately 8 times the attention span of most Corsa drivers though.

Never heard that one before!

Why specifically a 1.2 Corsa and why from the year 2002?

Because the insurance is cheaper for them.

I am not by a long shot a chav, and it is only as a last resort.

What type of focus do you recommend? bare in mind how much i can afford. But if insurance is cheaper, then i dont mind.

I know that insurance is the barrier, but surely there is an alternative to a 1.2 Corsa?

What a classics like on insurance for you? A mini or a moggy minor? Or a left field choice like a Metro, Allegro, 120Y, Chevette, Starlet etc etc?

Anything but a fking Corsa!

Haha... I am 6,3. I wouldn't fit in a mini! :3

But yeah... If anyone has any more ideas, that would be absolutely fantastic.

Not entirely sure if sarcy or not, but it's not (too) awful for a 17yo lad (iirc). The 1.4 should a be a little less, about 200 cheaper for me (at 19).

Poor OP getting battered from pillar to post here, he's already been getting abuse for wanting a Corsa 'C' here...

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

But unfortunately the Corsa 'C' is just not a good car.

Classics loophole has been pretty much closed as you now need to be 25 to get a classic policy, and commit to a very low mileage limit.

As others have said, shop around, buying an unlikely car for a 1st time buyer is often the way I.e. avoiding the mainstream small hatches. Try a midsize hatch like a primera or something, or a saloon. Just smash different reg numbers into moneysupermarket.com until you are out of pubes.

I know it is, my post was directed to the sarcastic outburst, directed at someone who was only trying to help.

Try Admiral multicar, I was getting lower than what you got quoted on similar things. I also found that for every month you wait after having passed your test the quote drops by about £100 each time. Worth thinking about.
