hate em , if ever you see a truck wobbling down the motorway you can be 99% sure the knob has one of these awful things on , and if you see someone backing onto a bay and the cab wagging like a dogs tail follwing trlr , guess what , yes knob has one of these knobs on

can't stand them.
normally found on wagons that have spanish bull horns inthe windscreen, dream catchers etc. normally owned by proper, (over the water) drivers, sporting furry clogs, and a wallet on a stupid bloody great chain.
the closest they get to going over the water is the woolwich ferry.

Guess someone here has to have one, might as well be me. I find it impossible to drive in a straight line or reverse like a pro, probably cos I keep breaking my wrist..... smile

Agreed they are a pain, knob keeps getting up your sleeve if you dont hold on to it.
I used to remove them when I was on agency work and put it in the glove box. Got into all sorts of trouble with drivers for taking it off THEIR motor.

Saw an Eastern European driver with it in his hand & a porn mag on the steering wheel, does that count?

Depend if he was coming or going.

As long as he wasn't drinking homemade plum wine and driving in the wrong direction.

I love them. Especially useful on units with low geared steering racks like the Iveco's and Stralis, or those with dustbin lid sized wheels (ERF/MAN). However a lot of my driving work is local shunting in tight yards so I may be biased somewhat...

I find that they need to be positioned 'just so' though, otherwise they get in your way.
