Don't spit at the Parking Scum

I don’t know why they’re so surprised that they’re loathed and hated. The line that got me was “It was totally disgusting; my senior warden had to pick me up off the street and take me to wash the spit off” . Teacher had to hold my hand because nasty big boy spat at me.
If you’re going to do (and, I suspect) enjoy a job oppressing, targeting and persecuting the public you ought to be enough of a man to take the consequences. Pathetic.

I kind of agreee that no-one should have to put up with it - kind of.
I can only speak as I've found. What I've seen is petty-minded, nasty, controlling, vindictive little bullies, hiding behind a uniform, strutting around Clerkenwell, Bath, Oxford and Edinburgh, dishing it out wherever they can - and enjoying their little bit of power.
I've encountered them myself and have felt like swinging a punch at them because of their gleeful, arrogant, controlling, little-tin-hitler attitudes - something I don't remember feeling since schooldays.
I'm sure some parking stormtroops are decent - the law of averages says some MUST be - but personally, I've not met one yet.
Again, personally, I wouldn't spit at one, no matter how much I loathed them.
But at the same time, if you dish it out - and some I've seen go WAY beyond their remit - you need to be able to take it back without hiding behind Authority. If you push people far enough...
The sad thing is that the Councillors - who are just as culpable for formulating the parking policies - never get to take the flak.

Funny how the people quoted as being spat on in the article are a woman and a 55-year old bloke. I wonder if the "furious" motorists would spit on a 20-year old 6'4" lad?
I'm not defending wardens, i've been a victim of the parking nazi's before, but anyone caught spitting on anyone else, whatever the reason, should be locked up.
It's an unfortunate reality that wardens are needed. A massive proportion of the great British public simply cannot be trusted to exercise common-sense in city areas when they park. Without the parking nazi's every city would grind to a standstill due to the "i've only been gone five minutes" brigade. However, no common sense seems to be shown by wardens either. Hiding round corners, pre-writing a ticket to be slapped on a car the second it's over. They don't seem to be helping themselves do they.....
Oh FFS I cannot believe this. I find myself at odds with MMCs stance on the basis that such behaviour is too severe.
I usually think he is far too soft. We cannot possibly defend spitting at traffic wardens, especially on a random basis, ie an unprovoked attack. I know these people are not everyones favourite public servant but they are only doing a necessary job. Dickheads park in stupid places and add to the congestion already caused by the elected dickheads.
Taking out the talivan with rocket launchers? Unfortunately not allowed.
Spitting at traffic wardens? Totally uncivilised behaviour.
Edited to say I am only joking about the rocket launchers

Totally unacceptable.....
Whether you like them or not, Parking attendants/traffic wardens whatever, they are someones Mother, Father, wife, husband, son, daughter etc...
I've mentioned before the cowardice displayed towards such wardens by some scum drivers, who have then suddenly turned all reasonable when the Bib turn up.

Used to get it all the time when doing towaways, usually from passing public who have nothing to do with the car you are lifting. Used to really p*ss em of by saying "thank you" and smiling!
Also I was once told by a very respectable looking woman that she hoped my kids died slowly of cancer - I took extreme offence to that and ended up getting a free ride in a jam sandwich for the fracas that followed (verbals not physical - she did have the outward appearance of a woman after all).
What is wrong with people these days? Verbals (aimed at me)dont hurt, but spitting is crossing the line.
