My mate has an 1984 XJS 5.3 which he is recommissioning. He would like to change all the drive belts - fan, air-con e.t.c... He has been trying to find a "Kit" or "service pack" as he can't identify all the individual ones from the websites he has visited. Does anyone know of a "drive belt kit?"

Just dug out the receipt I had from britishparts.co.uk for the belts when I changed mine which is an 88 V12, so should be the same:

1x STC3397
1x EAC1605
1x EAC1323
1x C43070

Can't remember which is which, but they all fitted ok.

Four if you include the inevitable discovery of something else than needs replacing hehe

Talking of which, does he still have the original yellow plastic radiator fan? These have a habit of cracking; worst case they disintegrate taking out the radiator and various other parts with them.

Whilst he's got the fan off, give it a really good clean and a close inspection for signs of cracks in the plastic. Surprise surprise, mine had multiple fractures forming.

The replacement black plastic fans are apparently far less prone to this.
