Probably one of those glassfibre bodies you could buy off the shelf to clothe basic mechanicals. From the wheelbase I'd say Austin 7 rather than Ford 10hp. very common in the 50s, but it all stopped when BMC brought out the Sprite.

If you're interested in this sort of stuff I believe the Historic Specials Meeting is this weekend at Cotswold Wildlife Park, Burford. Usually full of weird and wonderful Super Twos and Shirleys....

Yes the Speciaals day at Burford is always an excellent event, i attended last year in my Fairthorpe.

It is a 1955 Rochdale Sports Tourer with detatchable hardtop - similar to the Fairthorpe Electron Minor etc.

There is a wiki page but it's not very detailed and doesn't really mention the early stuff

I was lucky enough to have been given as a small boy all of the motor show books from the 1950's and 60's which detailed all of the cars on show, with photos, performance data etc, and it is listed in them.They are still in my mum's loft.

These books were given to me by Mr Peter White who was the chief motor engineer at the Royal Insurance where my mum was his PA. He had been a Lancaster pilot in the war and was shot down - he broke his back and was then imprisoned at Stalag Luft B - of THE GREAT ESCAPE fame - however he did not take part in the escape because of his injuries.

He was a lovely man whose enthusiasm for motoring knew no bounds.
