Dualit Nespresso 'compatible' capsules
Discussion
So wandering around Costco I came across these. Seemed a fair bit cheaper than the Nespresso originals and I'm running low so I bought a pack. Sadly I need to get up at 4am for work so I'm not going to try them now, but I'll let you know what they're like in the morning.
The packaging is very cheap looking compared to the Nespresso capsules. The foil top looks thin and poorly finished and the plastic of the capsule itself feels cheap and easily squashable, which explains the price differential. The proof is in the tasting though so if they taste as good then I'll be getting more. Looking at the Dualit site they do lots of flavours but Costco only stock the black 'strength 5' and the orange 'strength 3'.
I read somewhere that Nestle's patent on the capsules has expired - will we see a few different competing brands now?
