Looking good Kenny. Good colour choice, very similar to what Caterham call titanium grey now, which I chose for mine. Subjective opinion I know but the one thing I really don't like on that is the lettering stencilled onto the heatshield. I've a vague recollection that was done from new though, hence I can see you'd want to keep it original. If you search the Autocar archives they road tested a JPE when new, very impressive figures then and now!
Many thanks for the replies to the posting and also many thanks for the nice comments, appreciated lads.
Just to comment/reply to a couple of points raised.
1) Oslo, I know what you mean about the exhaust sheild. When I picked the car up it was in fact fitted with bespoke primaries and a 7 1/4" Titanium Raceco can, fortunately the original system was wrapped up amongst the spares package. I thought long and hard about swapping back, and eventually as you say for the sake of originality put the proper system back on............have to say it sounds so much better with the original fitted funnily enough
The lettering is actually cut out of the sheild with a stainless backing attatched.....bloody sharp when you are polishing around the "V" of the Seven....drawn blood 3 times so far
2)Re. comparison to the HPC. Having had 2 HPC's, one was a 218evo and the other Dta'd,cammed etc. there is no comparison in terms of sheer grunt, however the HPC's were a nicer 7 on the road IMHO.............even nicer than the R400 I had in between VX's for relaxed blatting.
3) The seats..............as long as care is taken with positioning of the nadgers and old lad before setting off they're fine
