Hi never posted on readers ride before so here goes my car history 
I started with my first car at 18 I am now 25 here are the cars I haved owned.
My first car was a very clean mk2 golf driver felt very quick for a first car really learnt how to drive as it had no driver aids loved it
Next car was a brand new ka was bought as the golf ended up needing a gearbox and was doing more miles so was a cheap car to get me about
Then I decided I wanted a vw v6 corado always loved then and insured one very cheap I was 22 at the time
loved the car was such a fun car and the spoiler was such a cool thing to have.
Then next was a 2002 mini cooper s in yellow this car was amazing loved it had good spec climate control and leather seats and very low miles at 38k.
I then needed some money so I sold the mini and got a mk2 mx5 really liked this car was great to drive looked good and got the roof down as much as I could.
Then on to my most recent car which I only got yesterday

Not as bad as prople say get on the rx8 club plenty of info on there. They really need to be driven hard they dont like to be drivrn gently otherwise engine will suffer so make sure ur oh drives it hard! I got mine off the club been very well looked after so id try get one off there or an owner who knows there stuff. Also get or make sure you get a compression test!!

There is zero chance of my girlfriend driving it hard although I can handle that as I will be insured on it.

You have to take it through the rev range every time you drive it don't sound like it wouldnt be a good car for ur oh tbh they need a lot of attentin. Even starting them up is time consuming no cold turn offs got to get to operating temp before you can switch off. Do lots of research people get them then within six months the engine is knackered so you end up with a nice 3k bill. They are not cheap or easy cars to look after unless you really want one and are willing to spend lots of time and money £££. Just giving you some advice before you take a Rx8 on
Here is the basic info on the rx8 worth a read if anyone interested.
1. To start up turn the key to position 2, wait for most of the lights on the dash to go out, depress clutch all the way down (optional, reduces drag on something - I do it anyway), turn the key to start and do not touch the throttle until it has started.
2. Never [-X turn off the engine before it has reached at least somewhere towards normal operating temperature (should only take a minute or two, but best to go for a short drive if just swapping cars round on the drive etc). Switching off cold risks flooding, which is a real
with a rotary engine. Mazda recommend rev to 4k and hold it for 8-10 seconds switching off while still revving if you have no option but to switch off cold.
3. Check the oil level regularly (use the dipstick - the oil gauge tells you nothing other than that you have or don't have pressure) and top up if necessary with semi synthetic 5w30 (more people are advising to use 10w40 now though) ... small amounts at a time, no more than ½ a litre then check the level again before adding more as you don't want to overfill it.
4. Use all the revs once the engine is nice and warm (keep it below about 4k until the needle on the water temperature gauge is pointing straight up, then give it another 10 minutes for the oil to warm up too before really thrashing it :twisted: ) and hit the beep often. Best acceleration is from 4k revs up - to pull away you really need to rev to 2k - you can let the revs drop after lifting the clutch if you are in traffic, cruising steadily at 3½k revs and changing down to go up hills or accelerate gets you the best mpg ... which still won't be great.
If you do get one make sure you get the best in your budget
