The 390SE was quoted as 146... 138 IIRC for the 350.

well the TVR handbook quotes 146 for the 350i so it must be right and where do those indicator stalks come from as they look better than my old SD1 bits ..

In that case the 390 must be good for 160...

IIRC the later cars used Granada switchgear.

so you see just goes to show that the wedges do travel quite fast although not in the same way as the chimeara does.

They are indeed Granada Scorpio stalks and column. Fitted to later cars and can be retro fitted to the older cars as I have done.

edited to remove the lower case I or should that be i

Well the SEAC topped out at 147 roof down and 154 roof up at Brunters with a bit more to come and another 200 yards braking not used.
Going back soon with no wing to see if that helps.

Yes I spotted this recently in my handbook as well.

We all know that a 350i will top out at 137mph on the flat with still air.

However what the handbook is saying that if you are going downhill with a following wind (gale?) then the maximum permissible speed is 146.

If TVR/actual mph has the same conversion factor as TVR/actual BHP I'm not worried.

Went out for a drive today in my 350i and had 120 on my gps, it was still pulling strong so i recon 135 or more real mph would be very likely...

Took the 400SE past 140 yesterday afternoon.. Felt very stable, Roof was off, sounding awsome. Didnt really feel the car would have had any problems touching 150, but in the name of mechanical sympathy, I decided not to bother.

Strange - I too hit 140 a few times yesterday.

It was still pulling hard - and that was roof off.

Must load up the photo I took of my girlfriend driving my car @130 thru the grandstand at Reims - photo was taken just 2 ~ 3 foot away .. awesome sound !

I kept to the national speerd limit of 60 mph all day yesterday - well I think I might have done 65-70 ish for 100-200 yards or so - but allowing for speedometer error..............

Ok, ok, ok. I admit I did 75 on the dual carriageway last year to pass two lorries after being balked by their overtaking antics for five miles.

It took several hours for my pulse to return to normal. I still dread that SP30 dropping through the letter box from that isolated incident.

Never again!

Remember that the NSL is 70mph for dual carriageways - you could have been driving faster

I believe the rules are that the NSL is 60 mph except for motoways and dual carriageways when the speed limit is 70 mph.

Maybe someone can check the Highway Code for us.

Alas, I was on a single lane road, (single lane in each direction) so NSL of 60 mph applied.
