I think he knows that much...Pre-S as no front splitter so 2001-2005 (likely - most cars were S after 2005 I think)), yank spec orange running lights and Vanq not seen in US until 2002.
So likely 2002-2005, there aren't enough visual changes between model years to do anymore than that I don't think!

Funny you should mention that. The other day I had to stop rather quickly because someone was trying to pull a Scenic out of a ditch. It was a bit of a WTF moment. Then I saw that they were trying to pull it out by running a rope through the open rear door windows.
I then watched in bemusement while the rear quarter lights shattered and the whole shell deformed as the other Renault tried to pull it out backwards out of the ditch.
So good to know that wouldn't happen in a Vanquish.

Unfortunately it has only covered 3,000 miles in it's life, although it does have a full service history with AM.
Strangely, it has been give to me as a gift! Now I have to consider how much this 'gift' is going to cost me to get back to the UK and how much to run when it's there. I currently have a Porsche 993 and 997C4S so I'm used to services costing less than £500 every two years.

Not on servicing, no, less than half of that if you go annual rather than 6 monthly, which would be OK on such low mileage. Upkeep perhaps could be that, but doesn't have to be.£3,000 on servicing per year if I do 5,000 miles?
It needs a proper inspection by a proper specialist but you'll need to get it to the UK first. It could need tens of thousands in work (seriously), it could need nothing. However, get it here, have it inspected - if it sails through, what a wonderful gift that you will enjoy far more than anything Porky flavoured. If it doesn't check out and you don't want to shell out, sell it honestly as a project and make plenty of cash anyway.
Either way, get it over here! Assume it's a left hooker? Great car for continental motoring and easy to sell for big bucks to the people who eat dinner later than us.

What a fantastic car to be left. It is an absolute beast that you either love or hate.
Where is the car, in the US? If so, I'm sure someone over here could give it a once over for you before you ship it. It seems to be quite the normal thing over here to have a Pre Purchase Inspection done by the nearest AM dealer, even if you buy privately. The PPI cost me about $250 if I remember correctly.
I'll give you £40 woth of euromillions vouchers for the car, and collect it myself. You could get very lucky, my son...

See? using a gearbox to slow the car down "to save the brakes" is what everyone does with their car and gthen being surprised when it brakes. And moaning about being 6/000ths behind to 100mph despite having cameras, timing gear etc on board. Still, 5th gear at 136mph isnt too bad...
Cracking cars. their only real fault is controlling the maual gearbox and clutch via linkages and hydraulics are well known about: have a look on the amoc forum for known issues and fixes. Once sorted, an amazing car. The last truly hand bult aston, the last one made at NP, the first of the new breed of aston, the best looking of the "modern" generation of astons. Alll-round, amazing.
Another thing to add: they came with either 2+2 or 2+0 rear seats. Very few options too, and very few (any??) changes between the years apart from vanquish, Vanquish S, Ultimate so there isnt much to differenciate between them apart from condition and value.
