I was at Goodwood on sunday for the GRRC open day at the house. As well as the usual Harvard, Chipmunk etc you see at Goodwood there was also an aircraft that LOOKED just like a 2 seater spitfire carrying out circuits.

It had the unmistakable wing shape of a spitfire, and I think it was a 2 seater BUT it didn't sounds 'right'.

Does anyone know if it was a real spitfire, or one of the '90% scale' replicas that are being built in the UK?

Interesting coincidence.. I was sitting outside my house when a pair of what looked like Spitfires flew over, but they definitely didn't sound like any Spitfire I've ever heard. I wondered it they were replicas too. Didn't get a chance to get a photo unfortunately.

Could well have been - they definitely sounded a bit weedy so an 80hp engine would be about right..
