First of all hello from a noobie! I have sold a couple of cars and bikes on PistonHeads but have never used the forums before and thought I would give this a go with an issue I have.

I have had a good search around this and other sites to get some guidance on my issue but I can't find anyone with the same problem so here goes.

I have an 2007 A4 2.0 diesel and it has a problem only when it is cold (first 5-10 minutes of driving). It seems to "surge" badly, particularly when under load pulling away from the lights. It idles fine and does have a less pronounced "surge" when held at a steady speed. It has covered 85,000 miles, it doesn't smoke badly and is fine once it warms up. Has anyone any clues or can anyone shed any light on this as it is spoiling an otherwise great car?
