Denison 500 - fitted this Thursday

Just thought I'd let you all know that James (formerly of Paralight) is coming to Manchester to install one of these for me. Looking forward to not having to constantly burn CDs to play in my car! He's also, offering to fit his custom Parrot integrated bluetooth for phonecalls (as the built in BT on a DB9 is a bit crappy). Who's got experience of built in BT versus the Parrot kit?

No experience of the Parrott kit in an AM, but I fitted one in my GFs Mini, and it's a brilliant bit of kit. And extra brownie points because, bizarrely, Parrot was set up by one of the directors at Louboutin!

There are several models of Parrot, I fitted the one with the little colour screen and remote control. It gives you BlueTooth music streaming, or plug it in and control the phone using the Parrot controls, voice activated phone calls, cuts out the music when handling a call, and charges the phone whilst its doing all that. it is very, very impressive

I have had the full install from James in my DB9 - Denison 500 + Parrot BT kit.

The Parrot BT kit works fantastically with my iPhone - It's tucked neatly in the ash tray and I rarely look at it. My phone connects on ignition and mutes the stereo etc when calls come in.

I have an early DB9 so don't have the integrated Bluetooth - just the in-dash SIM which is useless these days.

Thanks - useful to know. Just wondering if it's worth getting the parrot kit if I already have the factory BT installed I.e. is the person on the other end able to hear you crystal clear when you're flooring the pedal to your v12?

Why would someone want to hear you talking if there is a V12 to listen to instead?

I'm holding off on getting the gateway installed as I know I'll get the new iPhone when it comes out in Sept/Oct and the rumours are around it having a smaller dock connector, which I assume Denison will then produce.

Very good point. Hmmm, I should get it installed in such a way that the dock connector can be swapped out. Thanks for that.

Not a rumour. Plenty of images of it on the web.
