OK, this is the second Time For Tea? in less than a week from Porsche's museum collection but after the first part teased some of the more obscure exhibits lurking in the new storage facility this one goes a bit more in-depth.

One-off 928 cabrio concept among the rarities

That dumpy little thing with the 928-esque front end? Turns out that was the 1984 Type 984, referred to as the Porsche Junior and described in the video as the precursor to the Boxster. Other cool stuff includes a 924 streamliner, complete with front-wing mounted screamer pipe (yo), built to compete with the Mercedes C111 for distance record attempts and a one-off 928 cabriolet. Or how about the three tonne bulletproof 996? Fascinating stuff, if tantalising to think of all the amazing cars lurking in here not currently on public display.

I wonder why the 928 cab wasn't put into production, based on looks alone i would imagine that it would have sold well.

The 924 endurance car is interesting, would be interesting to find out what sort of figures it could achieve.

You mean they sorted the rms failure issues...?

I don't know why I don't get Porsches....like the cars up to the 90's....and that 928 vert does look good....and I guess the 993 is nice but other than that I left cold? Maybe my age and preconceptions....the peak for me was the 911 carrera 2 3.2 and the 944 turbo and maybe the 968 CS..?

Good to see a manufacturer doing this though and the racers are stunning!

OK... I have just watch part 1. The Head of Achive guy mentioned the Lada (very briefly) so it must have been a special project.

It's a Lada Samara which was a Porsche contract development for Lada from 1984.

Fantastic - I have really enjoyed both of these videos.
Being a Porsche fanatic, i am envious of both these chaps. Working with those cars and their associated history on a daily basis.

Just noticed that they say "Porsche" and not "Porscha". I guess that they should know?

Porsche were always terrified of cannibalising 911 sales - even with the car they hoped would replace it.

Thus did the 928 remain a medallion-man car in a world of quicker metal...

it only dawned on me about halfway through when he mentioned the weight that I was thinking 'bulletproof' as in 'will not break' rather than armour-plated, I've been reading too many motoring websites lately lol

yes, also lada campaigned a samara in the Paris to Dakar that was 959/961 powered.
