Help me choose my family car fleet

morning guys
I'm after some decent advice from guys who are in the know, its piontless asking the missus any more I just get crap answers. As we are looking at cutting back of our monthly out goings I'm looking to review our current motoring fleet. We have 4 kids so need a 7 seater/ family bus for weekends.
Current fleet:
Audi A6 Avant (7seater) 2.5TDi (worth around £3.5k)
VW Beetle (wroth £1.5k)
Alfa GT V6
I use the A6 as my daily commuter, I coummute 60 miles of motorway and 40 miles across London. As the A6 is a quarrtro the MPG isnt that great at average around 32mpg costing about £100 a week.
The missus uses the Beetle for school run ect.
The Alfa is a weekend toy, sits in garage and costs me hardly anything so its a no brainer, its staying.
What I'm looking to do is change the A6 and the Beetle so something which isd a little cheaper to run. I have a combined budget or around £5-6k and seeking thoughts of an economincal 7 seater and a motorway mile cruiser.
Hear are my thoughts so far:
Family Bus:
VW Touran (£3.5k)
Mazda 5
Grand Scenic
Small eco daily runner:
Alfa 147 Desiel (£2.5k)
Audi A2 or A3
MG ZT (BMW 3series oil burner engine)
Would be good to hear peoples views on this, like most people I just want my hard earned cash to go a little further every month!!
