Elise S1 Sport 160

A few pictures of my new car. As you can see, it's a 2000 Lotus Elise S1 Sport 160 WVTA with 43k miles on the clock.
I knew I wanted an Elise from about the age of 15, and 10 years later I'm finally in a position to run one. Would have been a couple of years earlier, but the original plan of a standard high-ish mileage S1 soon went out of the window when i decided what i actually wanted was a 111s, then once i could just about afford one of those I realised it wouldn't be much of a stretch to a Sport 160!
It's a second car so i think i made the right choice in going for something a little more focussed, especially as i plan to start tracking it. So far, after 2 weeks, i have no regrets! Performance is more than adequate and the way it handles is sublime! I had read all sorts about how these drive in traffic and, having prepared myself for the worst, it really isn't that bad considering it doesn't have the drivability kit fitted.
It's got a few modifications which i think compliment it nicely and should hopefully make it a little more reliable, more info if requested. Only thing i'd like to do is add some nitrons at some point, the LSS dampers seem ok at the moment but they'll no doubt need doing soon.
I haven't hidden the number plate because, well, life's too short!

Fantastic car, mine was the same colour and interior. The Nitrons will be a great upgrade, mine was on the original LSS when I got it, and the difference was night and day! Problem is you may need to replace bushes, balljoints etc to make the most of the Nitrons, so it can end up costing!
I never had mine out on track, I was too scared of pranging it! I know the current owner (member name 'atl' on here....) is driving it as god intended though, so that's good to know.

Looks exactly like my old one too
Best looking S1 Elise, IMO - the Victory's are just perfect on them. I never bothered with the drivability kit either, although in the cold and damp mine was a bloody nightmare - make sure you clean the IACV regularly.
Bah, just talking about it and remembering those epic drives home in the summer evening's is giving me "the itch"

Other than nitrons and a ph smiley it's staying as it is! Like i said, it's not 100% original, but the changes that have been done are pretty standard upgrades (full exhaust, hurricane etc.)
Awesome looking car and the dream machine to sit next to my Exige in the garage (in a world where I have a double garage...).
My missus went out in a friend's K20 S1 on Saturday and is now determined to own one though I fear an S160 will be out of reach.
Car looks fantastic, OP. Enjoy every second and use it hard and often, on track and off. It'll reward you by breaking down and smelling and deafening you but you'll love every drive.
