Hi,

I'm after some second hand tyres for an old set of 16" wheels for my Cerb - what were the standard tyre sizes that were fitted? Or are there a better size suggestion that people have?

Cheers

Joe

Just after something to get the car through an MOT and a few track laps until I can save up for some SP12s...

I'd save for some proper tyres before taking unknown old tyres on the track..

I will check on the condition of the tyres when I get home think they have wear on inside so might not go through MOT, don,t think I would want to use old tyres on a trackday as they might be have got hard and brittle with old age

Cheers, MOT is the main thing - got a big bill coming up and trying to keep costs as low as possible. So a set of new tyres are a luxury right now. As for track fun, driver ability will run out way before even the most shiny of tyres....

Front's are supposed to be 225/45

Rear's 235/50

Edit......

Out of interest, and sorry if it's a stupid question..... But with the Two different widths mentioned above, would it be safe to assume the front & rear wheels are also different sizes ?

Only reason I ask, is that you can pick up a new front 'Cheapy' at £50 a pop. Where as that 235/50 size is getting increasingly rare.

I've gone for a Bridgestone front with the straight track as it seems to eliminate the tram lining.
And the only rear size I could find was the Toyos.

235 50 were fitted to SP6 variants

245 45 were fitted as rears on AJP cars

The wheels are identical front and rear on both variants AFAIK

What do you reckon happens on the 235's ? I presume they just 'stretch out' smile the extra 10mm ?

Does anyone have the exact wheel specs of the 16" OZ saturns? Width/offsets specifically?

Cheers Billy,

Thanks for looking and the offer, I think the MOT guy will probably turn his nose up at me again with those though. Cheers for teh info though, they seem a reasonably common tyre so I'll keep my eyes out for a cheapish set.

Thanks again

I can have a look at mine tonight for you. What offsets do you need for the T cars? I guess its not quite the same as the Cerb.

We've got staggered offsets on the Ts 16" spiders, just wondering if we could fit 245's vs the rim width and whether the 16 OZs have staggered offsets too?!. smile

Off the top of my head - I don't think they are, but I will confirm later on this evening. I run 245/45 on the back and 225/45 on the front in R888s

Both front and back Oz Saturns are 7 1/2J 16 ET35 so I am afraid the offset is the same for both.

Thanks Peter, will check our spares when I get home, can't remember the offsets exactly, definitely staggered though. Width is the same, so I guess we could run 245s at the rear too?! smile
