Bonjour

Considering a 55 Plate M5 SMG . I've driven it today and it is what can only be described as mesmerising.

My question is how comfortable is it on long distance journeys as well as those trips to the shops?

I've had one for a few weeks.

Incredibly comfortable considering the sheer performance on offer. With everything in default mode (i.e. what the car is set up like when you start the engine) it's just like driving any other BMW, albeit a little jerky when cold as the gearbox seems to take a while to "get into the groove."

But press the M button and you've got a monster on your hands.

Word of advice though: If you can, get an approved used one from BMW, it'll come with a 12 month warranty. I've already had to have mine in the dealership to get an EML looked at, and that ended with some significant chunks of the fuel system replaced, all under warranty. Dread to think what it would have cost otherwise.
