Honeymoon in South of France!

well only 3 weeks to go till my big day. we are off to Cannes for our honeymoon after the main event and iam wondering if anyone has any recommendations of places to eat/drink at in cannes or surrounding areas. youll all be pleased to know that the trusty griff is also accompaning us on our travels so should be fun waking up our french friends in the cote d'azur to the sound of pre cat griff.

Gosh that brings back memories, also did South of France on my honeymoon 4 years ago. Stayed in St-Maxime and only paid a flying visit to Cannes so cannot recommend much there specifically.

More generally, if not already in your plans, a trip over to Monaco is a must, coast road route for that "opening scenes from the Italian Job" feeling and also as you get close some great tunnels in which I am sure the Griff will sound something else.

For the drive down or back up, try to incorporate the Route Napolean it is simply amazing. Was only in an MGF when I did it as had not yet bought the Chimaera, but plans are always kicking around my head for another trip now that I have a proper car!!

Julie and I stayed in Cannes a couple of years ago; we found an excellent little bistro in a back alley somewhere near the waterfront, a few hundred yards from the theatre where they do the film festival. Can I hell recall its name, theough. There was a smoky nightclub nearby (a proper nightclub, not the UK variety).
Also, on the seafront is a Haagen-Daaz (sp?) ice cream shop where you can get more varieties than you ever thought possible. If that doesn't help you score, nothing will
Monaco/ Monte Carlo has to be seen just to be believed; check out the Bentley showroom where the list prices seem to have been forgotten
Thoroughly recommend the nudist beach at St.Tropez, too - especially if you find it by accident, like we did! Just don't wave a camera around like I did...
A drive around the nearby hills is quite pleasant too.

thanks for the response guys will try the coast road as plan to go to monaco/monte carlo on our first sat down there. will also venture down the side roads to find some nice imtimate bistros.
