Long time lurker here, have posted a little bit but very seldom.
Have had a lot of different cars over the past couple of years but none have gotten under my skin quite as much as the merc!

Loving every moment of ownership so far only issue was window wiper motor packing in which apparently was a common fault with the car, but cheap to fix and easy to fit myself after reading how to strip stuff away on some forums.
Aside from the wiper its as tight as a drum and hasn't skipped a beat even with a trip to Cornwall and over Southampton and back to Belfast again biggrin

Have changed a few things since I first got the car, most likely not to everyone's taste but I like it and that's what matters I guess biggrin
Roof has been painted gloss black, painted the front grill in gloss black also, fitted new projector style lights to the front, and fitted twin exit oval exhaust to help tidy up the rear end.
Future plans are possible respray as the car is showing its age with a few marks and I really would like to keep it as clean as I can, and a good scrub on the interior, with it being a family car right now my kids have taken over the car leaving it a little grubby lol.

All that remains are the pics and hope you like! Constructive criticism welcome *flame suit on*

Had a T plate C250 TD this shape a couple of years back, in 'old boy beige' with beige inside. Came to me in p/x, and I kept it much longer than intended. Despite the fact the wheel arches rusted before my very eyes, I couldn't find good reason to part with it, I loved the way it rode too much. I do not know of many modern day alternatives that cosset and ride so well for banger money, certainly the W203 afterwards didn't.

Can't say it was the quickest thing I've driven though... your C180 must be pitifull! wink

The AMG badge is staying, I know its not an amg, people who know about cars know its not one and I don't care much. I don't drive it trying to fool people, just hope people appreciate it is another person who wants their car to look unique.

Yeah the 1.8 aint exactly super gutsy but it serves its purpose and I can overtake with only having slight fear for my life :P

It will be coming off the road for a few months while I sort some stuff out in the next few weeks once missus picks up her new motor (Vauxhall Antara). Wanting to sort the ride height out and stop having that dead body in the rear look lol.

Unfortunately I have seen other non-amg Mercs with AMG badges, so not unique. smash

Unfortunately though, you have not just tried to make it look "unique", you've tried to make it look like a better car than it actually is. Other than the naff projector lights, this would have been a cool car if it was badged properly, but the deliberate and dishonest mis-badging leaves this car firmly "uncool".

Exactly. It looks nice enough except for the badge.

Jeez, hardly the end of the world is it, having the wrong badge on?! Give the fella a break!

I've got a mid-60s motorbike with a petroltank from a different model to make it look like the sportier one (because it's nicer). Is that such a crime too?

Did you swap the wheels out for wheels from the faster version, and fit an exhaust that mimicked the top of the line one? Did you make a fairly determined attempt to pass it off as something quicker than it was?

No but my old man has a 1963 Velocette Venom that has alloy rims, swept back exhaust and twin leading shoe front brake from a Clubman model. Actually it was built as a 350cc and has the barrel and head from a 500!

Nobody (in real life) has ever been bothered enough to have a go at him for it!

I know someone else that converted a 1920s race bike from sidevalve to overhead valve (which is the sportier valve configuration), I'd dread to think what reception he'd get on here hehe
