Anybody been on a narrowboat holiday around the Oxford area?

Looking at going at the end of this month for a midweek break for 7 people.

Would also consider anywhere within an hours drive of Herts.

(Norfolk broads already ticked off and fancy a narrowboat this time).

We booked through these guys for a weeks break a couple of years ago and can't recommend them highly enough - we went on the Llangollen canal which is perhaps a bit far from you, but the offer boats close on the Union Canal.

Edited to add - The black county looks lovely if you don't mid opening plenty of Locks!

Can remember using Black Prince a few times for family holidays when I was a nipper. Given the are still in business I'd guess they are still offering a good service - http://www.black-prince.com/

Their Napton base is probably closest to you, just up the M40 and gives you a choice of some there/back runs or the Warwickshire ring if you don't fancy seeing the same thing twice.
