Every time I've used this lot since they opened in my town, every single time I've ordered my parts something comes wrong.

Today, replace rear brake pads on the Z.

Car all sorted, tools ready, go to pick up the parts this morning, brake wear sensor with huge "porsche" writing across the bag.

Get the usual "it's what comes up for your car reg" spiel. Ask if we should try looking for the vehicle type manually?

"oh yeah that looks a bit different, sure you don't want to try this one though"

Yes, because I want to take my brakes apart twice you fking fktard.

I've used them quite a lot and never had a problem. Obviously something odd about your car. smile

Same here - if in doubt just use carparts4less and have them deliver. Pick your own bits, 30% off ECP (ish).

ECP are brilliant everytime I've used them, they also have a 3 month no-quibble return period, so if you have got the wrong parts, they're easy to return.

I have used them for about 20 different orders in the last 3 years. Only remember 1 mistake where I had two same sided ball joints and I returned to their branch for refund/replace.

Was a Golf Mk2 though probably their 1 car.

I think it's really branch spedific. My liocal lot are great and take time to make sure it's the right bits before letting you walk out the door.

To be fair I should have been more concerned when I double checked that I was buying two pairs of rear pads & was answered with
"oh yeah but it's not unknown that we'll send out a box with only two pads in!"

Chortle indeed

Last time it was a clutch, get the old one out, pick up new one & "hey this doesn't look right?"

Yes, that's because it frigging isn't the right one. Again.

Perhaps it's just the Carlisle Euro Car Parts branch that are effected? I guess they only have the local gene pool to use when recruiting staff.

Just ordered a starter motor from that "parts4less", cheaper than ebay!

Damn sight cheaper than ECP.

Just used car parts 4 less in the last week for a set of brake discs, ok they weren't a brand I'd ever heard of but they seem to be doing the job (I seem to be stopping) Quick delivery and I think my order was dispatched within the hour!

Have used them a few times and very hit and miss. Last order was some lower arms with ball joints that should have been 18mm. There were two types fitted to a 306, 16mm and 18mm. 16mm I could forgive as it's an easy mistake to make but 17mm??? Good thing I checked them before demolishing the old ones. I accept there must be a market for cheap rubbish but the quality of some of the stuff they sell is worrying and at the best on a par with the Chinese ebay cack that lasts about ten minutes.

The website is appalling, it used to show you item details about size etc but now you just have to hope they know what they're doing and if they don't you have to fart about taking the stuff back to your "local" depo. The customer service is nonexistent and they seem to have no idea what you are saying when you call them and ask technical questions. Last time I had to take something back to some awful hole of an industrial estate in London I realised how much time I'd wasted and don't bother with any online parts places now unless I'm desperate. Main dealer for odd stuff, local factors for everything else so I can actually look at it before I buy.
