oil pressure temp guage
Discussion
Correct me if im wrong, but I didnt think the Cerbie had an oil temp gauge....
I think you maybe refering to the water temp gauge which is located within the same dial, and reads at the bottom half of the dial, which would explain why this doesnt read anything when first started...(water in engine cold)...and if i remember correctly starts at about 50 degrees before the needle moves...mine goes from 50 to 70 quite quickly once the needle does move and then slower upto 90/95 where it stays unless a very hot day...
PS...from cold I always warm my engine until the temp gauge shows over 50 degrees before driving off...what do others do?

If the water temp gauge flickers around a lot, then that can mean that you have air in the cooling system.
If it isn't registering correctly, or starts to show a lower temp than usual then it's probably the capillary tube that is screwed rather than the gauge itself. It'll need replacing if that is the case and i've been waiting 3 months so far for TVR to supply one.

Hi Paddy
From first start I drive straight off but keep the rpm below 2,500 and don't throttle too hard.
Temp gets to 75 and then falls to 65-70 as the thermostat opens. Then builds up again to 90-95.
After 10 mins at this I let the power free!!
PS Little off topic, are you going to Rougham this Sunday? If so I'll see you there!

Thanks Trooper nice to see TVR doing a speedy parts supply, anyone know of other makes that will do the job better & can it be changed to digital
Allan
I'm going to get Topcats to replace my gauge with a racetech one, it's half the price of the TVR one but needs a few things changed to make it work I believe. Unfortunately it's a different colour, but at least it works!
It's a mechanical supply to the origina; gauge, but the ECU outputs a digital reading, so there must be a digital sender somewhere if you wanted to go all Hasslehoff.
