Lavenham Show is now the PHEA Lavenham Run, BH Monday 27 Aug
Discussion
Good afternoon everyone.
Chasing up the organisers of the Lavenham Show last week to find out where the PHEA passes were, I was alarmed to find the organisers had changed and no longer did block bookings. Despite getting our usual entry sent in April, they didn't inform me of this change, telling me they had 'database problems'. They say they had our entry form, but now it can't be found.
As I'm sure you know the Lavenham Show is always massively over-subscribed and despite trying to salvage our attendance, it was impossible. We might have got a few cars in at lunchtime but they'd have been scattered in random places, so no chance of a PHEA club stand.
As I am the PHEA organiser, while I, like you, am deeply disappointed, I whole-heartedly apologise to everyone at PHEA for our lack of attendance at the Lavenham Rare Breeds show.
I have already made enquiries into our 2013 attendance and I am determined this will never happen ever again.
HOWEVER:
It is my belief that opportunities should not be wasted. Many of you committed a day to PHEA and want to bring your cars out, so although we can't park on the showground, I hereby announce the PHEA Lavenham Run!
FULL Details will shortly be forthcoming, but will centre around a mid-to-late morning start, most likely around Bury St Edmunds, before a short run for an early Lunch in or around Lavenham (pub suggestions are welcome!).
We shall then have an afternoon Run to somewhere on the Suffolk coast, around the region just east of Ipswich. If anyone has suggestions for the route or destination, then please let me know.
As you can tell, this initial news has taken me by surprise, but I am determined not to let a day with fellow PHers go to waste.
Kindest regards,
Darren

Afternoon everyone!
I am finally been able to post Meeting & Lunch details for our Lavenham Run.
We shall be meeting at 10:30am Bury St Edmunds Tesco for am 11am departure - CLICK HERE for a MAP LINK.
I have been able to book us in for a 1:30pm Lunch at The Cock in Lavenham - CLICK HERE for a menu on their Website.
Pub location is HERE.
As people wished to attend the Lavenham show, I thought it would then be a good idea to spend the late afternoon visiting the show, which is a five minute from the pub.
As usual, full route maps and instructions will be handed out at the meeting place
If you undecided as to what to do with your Bank Holiday Monday, then please join us. It's not too late!

Well Heat soak from the decat pipe is looking most likely, temp sensor was housed within a alloy oil sandwich plate that sits no more than 2 inches away. Changed the temp sensor to a sump plug adapter with the help of Fast Eddy (thank you!). Also changed the grade of oil to 10w50 ester based from a 5w40 fully synth just in case this broke down at the high oil temps being read.
Hampered by the weather yesterday afternoon I gave up to finish it off and have a test today, fingers crossed it was this but just in case i have an oil cooler ready to go in.
Hope the weather holds out on monday so the effort is worth it and I get to hear some V8 notes again from the TVR!
