Has your Nob had a near death experience?

Yesterday I parked the Nob on my grass outside the front of my house, where as normally I park in the road if I'm going out in it again or, if not, in my garage or on my drive around the back of the house. My neighbour yesterday failed to put her handbrake on when she came home in the middle of the day and decided to go to bed. Twenty minutes later her Polo decided to go for a drive on its own down the hill for a good 70m until going through another neighbours fence. No idea how fast it travelled and nobody saw it happen, but the Nob would have been in its path about 20m from where it started.

Not with the Noble but my brother came over one day and parked his wee Clio accross the bottom of my drive. My XJS was playing up when the hand brake gave and I was left scrambling behind it trying to stop the inevitable crunch that was about to happen!!! I ended up using the Clio as a support to bench press the Jag to stop it! His wee face was a picture as it was his first car and he'd only had it a few weeks!!

I sincerely hope your neighbour has been taken to task over this as I expect she will do it again!

It's not just damage to property that concerns me but more to do with children playing in the area.

It's taken me a while to convince my good lady to always park in gear but now she always does.

my wife actually drove into the back of my noble outside my house

i saw it all as i opened the garage door ! i went MAD

luckily she was travelling at only a few mph and there was zero damage

the car was maybe 1 day old and as you can imagine i was not impressed

My passengers claim near-death / out of body experiences regularly during a drive, does this count?

She gave the impression that she knew nothing about leaving a parked car in gear! It could very definitely happen again though as she doesn't really see things the way most other people do. (I'm suggesting she has a syndrome of some kind)If you know the road I live in you would be worried...very long hill with no pavements leading to a cross roads where the school bus picks the kids up in the mornings!
My daughter who passed her written test this week and is taking her actual driving test next week, already knows to leave her car in reverse whenever and wherever it's parked. It should be second nature.
