Are you sure you're not over filling it ? once it has lost a pint does it continue to drop ?

I fill mine up to about half way up the expansion tank, anymore and the car will lose it. Most cars have a natural level, some are 2" from the top others are 2" from the bottom and the rest are some where in between. You just need to find yours.

I filled mine 2" from the top but it looks like my level must be nearer the bottom ,thanks for that

Hi Bob,

Looks like you've got my old Chim!

Hope you have a good time with like I did!

Don't be fooled by the water loss - there isn't one. I thought the same when I first bought it. Have you been looking in the expansion tank (the one with the blue cap)?

The important thing is to make sure the main tank with the brass screw is topped up.

I originally kept putting a bit of coolant in the expansion tank only to se it diminish to a very low level very quickly. I then stopped doing it and instead just monitored the main tank level over a 800 miles or so and there was no level change.

You are quite right - there is no coolant leak.

I also saw your post re. the stepper motor. Whats the symptoms?

And sorry to see you had a hood leak - I never took it out in the rain to find out!

Cheers,

Nick.

Hi bob,

saw myour note and nicks reply.

seems like you have the water loss sorted but ifit continues suggest a check on the heater unit....I had the same problem lost a small amount of water per week.....diagnosed as leak in heater module....expensive to buy new but they can be refurbished....J
