I rented a car today from my local Budget Car Rental at Stansted Airport... I actually used to work at said Budget car hire a few years back and the cars we had where horrible bottom of the range Fiat Stilos, Kia Magentis (Luxury class! haha!) and a couple of other crapboxes that I felt bad about charging people to drive!

Anyway.. I went there today as I need a car for a few days and was expecting to get a boggo poverty spec Focus or Astra etc and I was rather pleased to hear I was getting a Nissan Juke, and a pretty well spec'd one as well.. unless Alloys, Sat-Nav and a few toys are standard on these things? and for a pretty good price of £70 for 3 days and full insurance included..

Its a decent enough car to drive and a fairly nice place to be but not what I would call exciting, I think it was only about a 1.6 or 1.8... anyway, this isn't a car review.. I'm asking if any of you have discovered car hire places that have an interesting choice of vehicles that don't cost a fortune to rent.. so forget ecurie25 or any supercar hire.. I will probably be after a car for next week but want something with a bit more oomph!

Cheers in advance..

Ollie (re-discovering my love of driving after living in London and been without a set of wheels for nearly 4 years!!!)

I have been checking recently for a Weekend away with the OH. also she previously had a disagreement with a wall while parking the focus so that's going to be in for repair.

I was offered by thirfty Leeds a 2012 VW Golf Cabriolet for £200 for 5 days which I thought was Interesting.

Also a BMW 335D for £239, but as it was not mapped I refused wink

Avis Do the Audi TTS For £500 which is not too bad I think I will try the golf as I have never personally seen a new cab.
