Extended Warranty for DB9

So I've just bought my DB9 from an independent, but would like to get the 2 year extended warranty before it reaches 5 years old in November - I've been quoted £3k for the 2 year top level warranty which is only available for cars les than 5 years old? The cost of the pre warranty check is £350.. But I believe some dealerships will waive this fee if the warranty immediately follows a service. My car was last serviced in February (700 miles ago), so I was planning on getting it done around October again. This will be the 5 year service, although the car will only have done 7000 miles. Has anyone else been along this route before - any guidance or advice would be appreciated. Is it worth £3k for the peace of mind?

My V12V is quickly coming to this juncture in October and those are the exact conclusions I have came to.1. those that bought one and sadly had to make big claims on it will rave about them.
2. those that bought one and didnt claim will say they arent worth it.
3. those that didnt buy one and shelled out thousands wont own up because those in 1 will keep banging on about clever they are
4. those that didnt buy one and didnt shell out anything tend to be pretty smug about it so we dont talk to those at all
My thoughts are "do I or dont I"? and also if I do, that scuppers the notion of a manifold/power upgrade at BR. Im also pretty certain that the new vinyl tax-disc holder I have on my windscreen will invalidate any warrenty anyway and so what is the point?

Haven't we discussed 10 x 9 to the sixth power times that a BR modification doesn't invalidate the warranty? Or did I dream it 10 x 9 to the sixth power times? peterr96 said:

Well having had the 4.3, 4.7 and now the 6.0 Gaydon Vantage, I can state that with Petrol and Insurance aside, they have been by far the cheapest cars I have ever run. If you want to know what real pain is, I have a feeling that any Aston built prior to the Vanquish will give you an indication of that.
However, with Owners somewhat older Astons, our inherently natural capability to by-pass the pain centres of the brain and chant "that this is not pain....., that this is pleasure, love, the preservation of heritage, the preserving for future generations etc...and that is all in every way worth it" we overcome these small financial difficulties and breakdowns become an intergral part of our fibre.
I think a 560bhp sounds about right for a V12V.

Good question Pete !!I'm running without warranty in year 4 of an 09 DB9. I'm spending the money instead on some fine wine.
The reason I'm running without warranty is that I've owned the car for 2.5 years and I'm aware of its history and previous work.
If I were in your situation I may have thought otherwise
