993 Turbo OR 997 Turbo
Discussion
Been looking at a very nice 993 Turbo.............
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3906928.htm......... they want 68K for it and I'm having difficulty
with the price when I compare what the same money wi8ll buy in terms of a 997
So, is the 993 realy worth considering. I know de[preciation will be different with both cars and in my case this is an occassional use car rtaher than fpor every day use.

Uh-oh, those guys.
For £70k there is so much special Pork you could get into for occassional use.
996 GT3RS would be my choice, but that's just my 2p worth.

Silly money
For a keeper the 993, but not at over inflated prices such as that for a green one with tan seats.
For out and out epic power performance and road presence the 997 Turbo
2 totally different eras of cars so as i always mention on posts like this shouldn't be compared.
Drive both and make your own mind up

Price is a joke and don't even get me started on the dealer selling the car.
If the car is a weekend toy (which is sounds like it is) then I`d personally go for a 993 turbo as I prefer the looks and character of the car making it more of an event to drive however if the car was to be a daily driver then I`d be taking a 997 purely for the mod con over the 993.

Ok, so I'm biased - I own a 993tt and use it as a daily driver. I purchased mine 2 years ago because I love the way a 993 drives and I love the shape. It's an icon. I traded up from a 993C4 which was also used as a daily drive for 9 years. In that time I've never once got bored of it (or the C4) or wished I had the 'mod-cons' of a more modern vehicle (although I've got lecky windows, built in satnav with iPod, cruise, heated seats with lumbar etc so not sure I'm really missing out) and the sense of occasion was always there (for me).
I'm not sure (but freely admit, that I don't know) that I would feel the same driving a 997 after a few years (I've driven a few NA 997's and they are everything that you would expect of a modern sports car and more, but the old school feel that I enjoy is missing). Of course the 997 is faster, more comfortable, has a chronograph on the dash........... BUT, as has been said before, you've got to drive both before deciding which is for you. Oh and you don't need to pay much, if any, above £50k for a very respectable 993tt which sensible mileage.
