Hi guys. Trying to recetify a clutch master cylinder leak on my 450. So.....bought a replacement seal kit from Rimmers for the original Girling unit & went about the job. Removed the seat for access and then sort of failed at the first hurdle banghead
How on earth does one remove the piston that's connected from the master cylinder to the clutch pedal? Mine seems to be reveted in place onto the pedal & I can't see how you can get a drill up there to drill it out! Assistance much appreciated.

No drilling required...

What looks like a rivet is an attachment of the pin to a clip that wraps around the rod that goes to the master cyl. You rotate the clip to unclip it from the actuating rod (you can get a spanner on it) and then the pin slides out... hopefully.

Good luck1

Thanks for the reply Hatter.
I can see the clip that wraps around the rod/piston. Managed to move it around but on my clutch pedal it does appear to be riveted onto the pin. Anyway, drastic action taken....levered off the clip, sawed off the rivet from the pin & then managed to knock out the pin......success & a sore back! Now I think the replacement seal kit I bought is the wrong one for the Griling master cylinder I have (Girling70 6467631C)!

You mean 64676310?

Seal kit should be a Girling SP2102.
