There are 2 types of power boost valve and having read through the threads I'm confused as to which one I need, my valve appears to lay horizontally with the pipe coming out the back towards the bulkhead. I'm not sure whether the bolts are vertical or horizontal at the moment as the car is at home and I'm at work.

At the top of page 1 on this thread (www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=63197&f=11&h=0&p=3) there are 2 photos and it appears to have bolts going into the bracket horizontally but reading the thread it mentions the valve being the vertical type, mine has two bolts that go down from above (vertical??) and the standard valve lays horizontally with the rubber cap/cover thing facing backwards towards the bulkhead. When describing these as horizontal or vertical, does this mean the valve or the bolt fixings, am I being stupid and missing something? Can anyone tell me which type I have fitted?

I think you're missing something

On the first page under the pictures there is a post from andyf007

'There are 2 versions, the vertical one, as above, is the "vertical bolt" version and the horizontal one,'

"vertical bolt" is the bit of info you are looking for.

vertical or horizontal refers to the bolt.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for that and I can see what you mean but the one in the photo (described as vertical) still looks like it has horizontal bolts fixing it.

Mine has 2 bolts fixing it in from above.

I can always go for the vertical and send it back if it's not the correct type and re-order again.

Cheers,
K

Sorry that's the limit of what my understanding, but I understand your confusion. Maybe post a picture and see if anyone can advise, or maybe FSE would be able to help if you emailed them a picture?
