Good price for car seeing as a factory built car new would be £65k, with a LS3 model being nearer £85k

Performance would not be "special" with that 5.7l engine but if build quality is good then it is still reasonably priced and leaves room for an engine upgrade.

My understanding is the costs to upgrade a SBC to LS setup, works out more expensive than buying an LS car in the first place. This doesn't even take in to account potential compromises of converted car vs one built for LS engine in first place ?

Suggest you call the factory for any information on used cars, if they know the car they will tell you.

Was just seeing if anyone knew the car as am considering putting in an offer, I dont know enough about them to be 100% of what I am buying and bow to the expertise on here. The only got it not finished I know that much and to be honest the factory cant really say much good or bad like giving a job reference really, not saying they are not helpful but they are tied a bit in what they can divulge.

Ha, ha!! Seriously tho'.... it's a short space of time for the car to get a "dubious" label, so what's happened to it? Crashed & repaired already? Why is it dubious? Sometimes people have an odd perception of what constitutes dodgy history, but without context / explanation, it's a pointless comment.

YES FC I can back that statement up !!!
barriejames £30k a bargain go for it, but be quick because at that price you will have BHP, Sports and Prestige Centre, and totalheadturners on your tail, who will put it up for a considerable hike in price.
356speedster I follow the threads and the Ultima grapevine and have a pretty good idea what is good and bad, oh and 356speedster try and think outside the box !!

Ok, is all this talk going beyond the rules of forum posting? If it was my car (and its not and I don't know or represent the seller in any way) I would be not too pleased. furious
Secondly I remember seeing the car for sale months ago at about the 45k range. My initial thought from the pictures and description was nice smile, reasonably priced, not sure about the interior carpet though, however reads and looks like all Ultima high end spec, therefore bid 5k less and would be good for a ls3 conversion and paint job or at least low end cheap exposure to the Ultima GTR experience.

I would be grateful if any Ultima owners could indicate to me where the Chassis Number is stamped (as I can't picture it off hand) so I can record and check up on for any car I decide to look at for a potential purchase?

And I guess along with the Hpi checks, calling the factory, asking other local builders and asking on the forum, I can also buy Highflyer a drink and he will give me the gossip biggrin

Chassis no is stamped on the round chassis bar next to the fixing for the front spring by the washer bottle on Right hand cars.

I didn't ask if you could back it up, I asked what could you back it up with?
So far you have said it' s history is dubious without any explanation.
No agenda here just interested.
