We seem to have, for the second time in a month an issue with being unable to remotely lock the cars or open/ closed the electric garage doors remotely. Both are fine with using keys or push button, but this has happened twice now. My mate wonders about whether its a frequency thing from one of the government places, such as Aldermaston etc which is up the road or something similar. Any ideas from anyone would be good, as its a bit of a pain. Yes, I have changed batteries and cleaned connections etc. The garage opener did open remotely this morning, but only when I held the pager on the opener itself. 2 ft further away and nothing.Just a bit baffling to be honest.

I don't know but I had the same problem with both cars recently!

The first was very dull - dead battery in the fob, nothing as exciting as aliens - the second I've no idea, but opening it with the key, turning it on/off, then re-locking worked.

I was assuming coincidence but maybe we're the victim of an upcoming alien invasion ! ;-)

It's likely some wifi or rf interference. The P38 RR was well known to be plagued by this. I once parked it on the open top of a multistorey in Woking and because of all the dishes and aerials atop the roof I couldnt' open it or start it!

There was a guy I know who lived near one of those power substation things you see dotted around and it one day started humming audibly and from that moment on his cars would not open from the key fobs either. Anything like that nearby?

No overhead powerlines , just in the middle of a housing estate. Irregulary happends but getting more common with time at the moment. Just nothing works.............

Not power lines I meant those kinda brick shed looking buildings you see dotted around. Either that or your next door neighbour is microwaving a cat or something smile
