Or can I take it as it is? Are the roll bar / hoops ok? Cheers

I've seen one rolled at Castle Combe and both passenger and driver were fine. Car even lived to fight another day! This particular car was an S54 powered version with some ACS bits added to it. Went very very well on track.

Good tyres or ensure you know how to drive, only seen two on track but both seemed to struggle to keep the car straight / both spun a few times.

Brakes are the most likely source of problems. I realise that mine isn't an 'M' - it's a 2.2i Sport - but I was horrified at how rapidly I lost pedal firmness on a trackday in very cold weather. The fluid was new, although standard, so bearing the temperature of the day in mind (<6C) I'd assume that wasn't to blame. The pedal went soft and 'long' and didn't really recover for hours afterwards. Your 'M' will probably have bigger brakes but it's a hell of a lot faster too. My son's Z4M Coupé has had brake issues too, partly due to the DSC. Switch it off or it will be fighting your intentions and cooking the brakes in the process.

A customer of ours runs a z3m but a coupe. It has updated suspension (not coilovers) anti roll bars and carbone Lorraine pads. It is brilliant on track. Brakes are excellent and admittedly he is an excellent driver it has dine something like a 7 min 40ish bridge to gantry time. His has been developed over time but the mist beneficial mods would be updated brake fluid, motul 660 or similar and the pads.
See if you enjoy trackdays then gradually tweak it.
