Evening all. Long time lurker, first time poster (such is the cliché). Think this is the right place for this...

Have been a fan of PH for some time. The obviously entrenched sense of community and camaraderie I've witnessed in the months I've been browsing these forums is inspiring - simply had to sign up.

A bit about me - I'm 19, a student and aspiring motoring journo (isn't everyone nowadays?). I drive a 2012 Focus Ecoboost, with the 125 1.0 motor. Spec'ed to the max, obviously. It's worth pointing out here that it's not entirely mine (imagine the insurance...). It's a company car - as were all the cars I've 'owned' since I passed my test nearly two years ago (all, erm, five of them...). I count myself pretty lucky that I'm in such a position, and don't for one second take it for granted. As much as I'd love a car I could really call my own, I just can't make a financial case (even using 'man maths'...) for it when there's an insured, taxed, new motor on the drive that would otherwise sit unused.

Besides, I'm quite fond of the Focus. The 1.0-litre mill is immense - miles better than the 1.6-litre diesel equivalent (ran one of those for a few months, therefore qualified to make the judgement...) - and I actually quite like the looks (they grow on you), especially with the optional 18s and in a darker hue.

I've driven a fair few cars since I passed my test a couple of years ago - a couple of AMG Merc's, a '12 5.0 Mustang, a Ferrari 360, and a new 3-Series among others. Needless to say, we're a car family.

At least, my father and I. He's worked in the car industry for nearly 30 years. The family stable consists of company stuff, with a couple of notable exceptions. My old man's pride and joy is a '69 Bristol Lodekka coach - he's had it for more than 20 years, and it's recently been the subject of a 15 year restoration. It's, quite possibly, the only one in existence (five originally built...). He's got a thing for Capris too. Having sold his 2,800 mile (yes, that's 2,800 mile...) '87 280 Brooklands a couple of years ago, he bought (much to my mother's annoyance...) an '86 (?) 2.8 Injection with 20k original miles. It'd been converted to an auto' by the one former owner, but it'll undoubtedly be returned to original spec' soon.

Well, that's me - happy posting.

Welcome to the madhouse. Do you have any photos of the Bristol? A colleague at work is a bit of a bus fan.

Out of the cars you've driven, what's been your favourite?

Welcome to PH. I'll introduce you to us properly.

You're a liar, none of that happened unless pics, and don't throw cans of Red Bull or use a Baby on Board sticker.

On another level entirely - the 335d (current model, complete with mapped ecu) was just ridiculous. From the drive, I came to one conclusion - I need 550bhp in my life...
There, that's much better. Much more PH like.
