Just A Ford Focus
Discussion
Been here for a very long time , do post a bit, but never done here. Great seeing other peoples very nice cars, so thought I would put my 'ordinary looking' Ford Focus.
History goes back many years, from Westfields to TVR to Lotus and needing extra seats for a family. Hence the need of a 'family car'

Bought from a Ford dealer, who wont be named for the grief they caused and had done before collecting it, the Mountune kit fitted. This raises the power to 260 bhp, although many cars run up to 280 bhp on various rollers, that have been run on but lots more torques. Clutch was always a week link with the Mountune and it showed first time it was tried, so a Focus RS clutch was fitted.
Wanted to get through the winter before tinkering and then uprated the suspension with Eibach springs and a whiteline rear arb. Found the rear camber was too much, so also fitted the eibach cam camber bolt kit and got the camber and tracking redone. Rides very nice without any nasty bobbing and crashing.
The decided I wanted a new exhaust system, so bought a stainless system and a 200 cell sportscat and larger turbo downpipe. This seemed to make the car come on boost faster and did give more seat of the pants midrange, not that it was missing or short of many in the first place.
Also debadged the car as much as possible. Cant take the badges off the front wings as that leaves big holes and changed the left over badges for DMB gel replacements and all red ST badges changed to black.
New grooved discs and Mintex M1144 pads fitted to sort that area out.Recently I have fitted a AS cold air intake system, to help the breathing, even though Mountune dont recommend it, it does seem to make the spool up quicker.

To me , its an all purpose vehicle. Kids in the back, sensible performance, which should be around 300 bhp, but the volvo engine does make the car. Also its not brash and loud, which is what I wanted. Go to shows and people walk passed unasuming of its actual potential. On the road, people think ' Its just a Focus'
Happy as with it. Not biblical power, but taking a mate out, who has an S5 Audi, his words were after a quick blast' Blimey, I was not expecting that, at all'
Hope you like my 'sensible' car

The 5 pot really is amazing. What a noise.
I like the Sea Greys. The RS clutch a big improvement on the car yes?
Thanks for the positive comments. The clutch is a lot more snappy than the original, which seemed quite mushy. Still after 8k miles , first gets everyone whiplashing their necks. Yes it is an improvement, as it doesnt slip at the first provocation of the right foot. Have also put the superflex insert for the engine mount, which stops engine twist and more positive gear shifting.I like the Sea Greys. The RS clutch a big improvement on the car yes?
